Thats why it’s a great idea to regularly update your collection. I went on a little search today and found these little gems that you must own. Some of the preview images below don’t do the font justice, so be sure to follow the links through to view them on MyFonts and see them in all their glory!

Museo

Museo is an undeniably awesome font. As soon as I saw it I fell in love with its details. It is a sturdy, low contrast, geometric, highly legible typeface, which is very well suited for any display and text use. Definitely one to download and try out right away.

Jesaya

Jesaya’s crisp shapes put a sharp new face on whatever you have to say. This is another great font that oozes class and that clean, modern feel. Unfortunatly only one weight is avaliable for free download, but worth a download none the less.

Effloresce

The whole Effloresce font family is available for free so download it before the author comes to his senses and starts charging! I particularly love the bold and bold italic versions.

Anivers

This font has been mentioned by the likes of Smashing Magazine I know. Its not my favourite of the fonts I’ve handpicked here, but still an interesting font, and definitely worth the free download. The author says its suitable for broad use. Meaning it could be used for a magazine headline, an introduction, or the base for a logo.

Gnuolane

Punchy and clean would be two adjectives I’d use to describe Gnuolane. Its a ’serious’ headline font. Again only one weight is available for free and I think I’m going to have a hard time resisting the whole set!

Report School

‘Report School is a geometric sans-serif font custom designed for education. You can almost hear the hum of the fluorescent lights and those special clocks made only for schools which run slightly slower than regular clocks.’ - What a superb way to describe this font. I don’t think the image above does it justice so have a play with it yourself.

Delicious

This font has been in my creative arsenal for years now and I still use it quite often. For me the kerning is a little too far apart for my liking, but this is nothing you can’t play with and adjust yourself as you’re designing. Every character has a unique shape making this a really interesting font.

Ligurino

Ligurino is a sans-serif font thats slim and trim, yet manages to stand out and make you look. The author states that its ‘free of embellishments’, and he’d be right. Just look how legible it is, perfect for use as a headline, packaging or a on a bill board. You can’t afford to do without this beauty.

Aller Sans

I only recently stumbled upon this free font so haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. It looks great though, Visit the download link below and view the PDF specimen to see all the different free weights available.

MEgalopolis Extra

This to me looks like a truly unique font thats full of character. Click the link below and take a look at the preview image, which shows all the little touches that have been added to this font. Although probably not suitable for a corporate client, this font has got to be one you add to your collection.
